Clipper — Long Videos to Viral Shorts
Transform long videos into viral 9:16 shorts automatically with karaoke captions and color grading
What is Clipper
Clipper converts long-form video (podcasts, interviews, streams, lectures) into multiple viral 9:16 shorts ready for social platforms: TikTok, Reels, YouTube Shorts. AI automatically identifies the best moments (highlights), extracts them, and edits with:
- Karaoke captions: word-by-word synchronized subtitles matching the spoken text.
- Reframe: zooms in on the speaker to fill the 9:16 format.
- Color grade (optional): makes the image punchier and more engaging.
How to use it
Clipper works as a 3-step wizard:
Step 1: Choose your source
Upload or paste your long video:
- Click "⬆ Upload video" to select a file from your disk.
- Or paste the URL of a video (YouTube, Vimeo, etc.) in the field below.
Once uploaded, click "Next" to move to step 2.
Step 2: Configure parameters
Define how many clips to generate and how to process them:
- Number of clips: 1 to 12 short videos.
- Language: auto-detect, Italian, or English (determines captions).
- LLM Provider: who selects the highlights:
- Local (free): local AI model, fast.
- Claude (premium): Claude API, intelligent selection.
- Gemini (premium): Gemini API, high quality.
- Karaoke caption: enable word-by-word synchronized subtitles.
- Color grade: apply punchy color correction (makes it more vivid).
- Reframe: zoom in on the speaker to fill 9:16. Choose:
- Dynamic: follows speaker movement (when available).
- Static: fixed zoom on center (fallback).
Click "Next" to generate.
Step 3: Generate clips
The system processes the video in the background:
- Identifies highlights.
- Extracts and edits clips.
- Applies captions/color grade/reframing.
- Saves all results.
You'll see the processing status and, once complete, you can download each clip or use them directly in the Gallery tab to publish or hand off to other studios.

Tips
Video quality: Clipper works best with well-lit videos and clear audio. Avoid distorted or inaudible speech.
Recommended length: Perfect for podcasts/interviews 20 min – 2 hours. Shorter videos may generate few clips.
LLM Provider: Free local provider gives random selection. For targeted highlights, choose Claude or Gemini (premium).
Color grade: Experiment on/off. For formal business content, natural color often looks better.
Reframe: Dynamic is ideal if speaker moves; Static for static video (e.g., webcam).
Common issues
"No clips generated"
- Video may be too short or without dialogue. Upload a video with at least 5–10 minutes of speech.
"Captions not synchronized"
- If speech recognition is inaccurate, captions may not align perfectly. Use a video with clear audio.
"Upload failed"
- File may be too large or unsupported format. Convert to MP4 H.264 before uploading.
"Reframe too aggressive"
- If speaker is shot from far away, zoom can crop important parts. Disable Reframe to keep original frame.
"Color grade not visible"
- Depends on source video. If already very saturated, grading may have little effect.
