Trash and Asset Deletion

Recover deleted assets within 30 days or delete them permanently

What is the Trash

When you delete an asset from the Gallery, it doesn't disappear immediately. It goes to Trash where it stays for 30 days. During this time you can restore it, or delete it permanently.

It's like a computer's trash: a second chance before losing the file forever.

How it works

Delete an asset

From the Gallery:

  1. Click an asset (or select multiple with the checkbox)
  2. Click Delete (trash icon πŸ—‘)
  3. Confirm the deletion message
  4. The asset disappears from the Gallery and goes to Trash

From the lightbox:

  1. Open an asset
  2. Click the Delete button at the bottom
  3. Confirm
  4. The asset is in Trash

Access the Trash

In the Gallery tab, click on the Trash tab (or scroll right if you don't see it).

In Trash you see:

  • All deleted assets from the past month
  • Days left before automatic deletion (e.g., "27d")
  • Buttons to Restore or Delete permanently

Actions in Trash

Restore

Click Restore on an asset:

  • It goes back immediately to the Gallery
  • It's as if you never deleted it
  • Your credits/storage don't change

Delete permanently

Click Delete permanently:

  1. You see a warning: the operation is irreversible
  2. Confirm if you're sure
  3. The asset is permanently removed from the server

There's no way to recover it after.

Empty Trash

If you want to clean everything at once:

  1. At the bottom of Trash, click Empty trash
  2. See a dialog: "Delete all {count} items?"
  3. Confirm only if you're SURE

All Trash assets are permanently deleted.

Automatic retention (30 days)

Each asset in Trash shows days left:

  • Generated today? "30d"
  • In 15 days? "15d"
  • In 29 days? "1d"
  • In 30 days (expired)? Automatically deleted

You don't need to do anything: the server cleans up automatically.

Tips

Don't be afraid to delete. If you're unsure, put it in Trash. You have a month to decide.

Clean up periodically. If you accumulate many assets in Trash, empty it to save storage space.

Be careful with "Empty Trash". It's convenient, but deletes EVERYTHING without asking for confirmation for each item. Use it only if you're really sure.

Common issues

I don't see the Trash tab

  • You have no deleted assets. Trash only appears if there's something inside.
  • Scroll right in the Gallery to find the tab.

Error "Restore failed"

  • The server might have an issue. Reload the page and try again.

An asset disappeared and isn't in Trash

  • The 30 days expired, it was automatically deleted.
  • No worries: if it was important, it might be in your project backup (ask your administrator).

How much does Trash take up?

  • Trash doesn't count toward your total storage: assets are "hidden" until they're permanently deleted (after 30 days or manual emptying).
